ANJC to Launch Army One Source Program to Benefit Returning Vets

FREE CEU Webinars Offered

We are proud to announce that the Association of New Jersey Chiropractorsis collaborating with Army OneSource, a U.S. Army community outreach program, and the Army Community Covenant to raise awareness of the unique challenges of Military life on our Service Members and their Families and to address the growing need for accessible health services. Many of you already treat veterans of the armed forces that return from deployment with physical health problems. This program, available now, will educate you on the unique challenges that these service members face.

The program entitled “Healing Hands 4 Heroes” invites chiropractors to learn about the stresses and challenges service members and their families are facing as a result of deployment. Three online CEU courses entitled “Treating the Invisible Wounds of War” have been developed and are being made available to you free of charge. **These CEU’s will be available and are currently pending through Cleveland Chiropractic College.

At the ANJC’s Spring Convention on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the Ocean Place Resort & Spa in Long Branch, the ANJC will officially conduct a Community Covenant Signing with Army OneSource that will officially launch the next phase of this program, which will commit the ANJC to providing free care for veterans. ANJC will provide the recommended treatment timeframe but it is ultimately up to ANJC doctors to treat what they feel necessary. General Becky Halstead will be the keynote speaker at the Convention. General Halstead has been a spokesperson for the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress, speaking across the country about the urgent need to provide chiropractic healthcare to our veterans. ANJC doctors wishing to participate in this program will be able to do so by calling or emailing ANJC HQ to verify their participation. Then HQ will update the ANJC website similar to theBaby It’s Cold Outside campaign.

The courses are not mandatoryto participate but we encourage you to complete them.Theyare designed to assist doctors of chiropractic who may see a veteran or family member on an unrelated issue develop a better understanding of the culture in which veteran’s and their families live and work, and provide best practices for identifying, and assessing health disorders that result from the trauma of war.
