Sunbury Heights Primary School students have regular access to computers in both classrooms and specialists areas. Currently the Internet is available for the children to use in the Library.

At Sunbury Heights Primary School we believe that it is vital for our children to develop knowledge and skills in the appropriate usage of the school’s computers. Discrimination is used in the choice of material that is available to children via the Internet, and the school provides opportunities for students to learn through structured hands-on experiences with appropriate teacher supervision and guidance. These are significant aspects of our children’s learning experience.

The computer user at Sunbury Heights Primary School is responsible for:

  • the content and appropriateness of any information which the user may send or receive via the Internet
  • taking all reasonable precautions to ensure that a virus is not introduced to the school’s computers

  • ensuring that student computer usage is structured, equitable and with purpose
  • monitoring the content of any E-mail sent and received

To ensure that all children understand their responsibilities and to assist us in ensuring that your child uses the computers in an appropriate manner, we would ask that both you and your child read and sign the Code of Conduct outlined below and return it to school as soon as possible.
