Use of FSC Logo

Overview

Background / This covers the use of the FSC logo supplied by Company, or for use internally, for inclusion on artwork to be used on material printed by Company. Company are committed to abiding by the rules of the Forest Stewardship Council and the following are rules that they impose.
Earlier standards may be followed but the standards shown below will be mandatory after 1 January 2011.

Use of logo

Conditions / The following conditions apply to the use of the Company FSC logo:
1.  The logo may only be used where Company are following the FSC chain of custody system. Use of the logo elsewhere is a breach of the Forest Stewardship Council Trademark and they may take out legal action against such companies.
2.  The type, size, colour, shape, clearspace and content rules specified below must be followed.
Types / Only the three types shown in fig.1 may be used, but they may differ in orientation and colour as described below.


Sizes / Follow the minimum standard label sizes shown in fig. 2. Where space is limited, such as on business cards, the mini label may be used but this requires the prior permission of the certifying body. Note that the contents are different.


Colours and prohibitions / Follow the standard allowable colour combinations shown in fig. 3. In certain circumstances, other colour combinations may be used, but this requires the prior permission of the certifying body. Ensure that none of the prohibitions shown in fig. 4 are breached.



Pantone colour / 626C / Note that the CMYK values specified by the FSC are not those for 626C, which are:
CMYK colours
Cyan / 100% / 80%
Magenta / 60% / 18%
Yellow / 100% / 53% / Until clarified by the FSC, assume that either is acceptable.
Blank / 20% / 56%
Clearspace / Ensure that surrounding text or graphics clear the label by a margin indicated by the FSC text in Fig. 5.
Promotional /
Where the FSC label is used off-product on company literature, websites, etc., ensure that the label is similar to that shown in Fig. 6. The rules stated above on colour, etc., apply. Note that the text may vary, but the word “responsible” must be used and “sustainable” not used.
