Logging Practices / LCI's Web servers automatically record Internet Protocol (IP) addresses of visitors. The IP address is a unique number assigned to every computer on the Internet. Generally, an IP address changes each time you connect to the Internet (it is a "dynamic" address). Note, however, that if you have a broadband connection, depending on your individual circumstance, the IP address that we collect may contain information that could be deemed identifiable. This is because, with some broadband connections, your IP address doesn't change (it is "static") and could be associated with your personal computer.
As well as recording the IP addresses of users, LCI's Web server also keeps track of sites that users visited immediately prior to visiting LCI's website and the search terms they used to find it. The Web server keeps track of the pages visited on LCI's website, the amount of time spent on those pages, as well as the type of searches done on them. Your searches remain confidential and anonymous. LCI uses this information only for statistical purposes, to find out which pages users find most useful and to improve the website.
LCI servers also capture and store information that your browser transmits. This includes:
1Browser type/version
2Operating system used
3Date and time of the server request
4Volume of data transferred
5Access status (file transferred, file not found and so on)
This data will be used to generate statistics that help us to further adapt our websites to meet your individual needs.
Cookies / Cookies are electronic placeholders that are placed on your computer by websites to track your individual movements on that website over time. Some cookies used by LCI are session-based and therefore last only for the duration of the user's session. Cookies are used by the LCI website to keep track of user sessions to balance the usage of this website on all LCI Web servers. They are not tied to a specific identity — no identifiable personal information about you is stored by them. In the instance you opt-in for marketing materials or sign up for an account with LCI the information the cookies collect may be tied to your specific identity.
LCI will also make use of persistent cookies. This type of cookie remains on your hard drive and provides information about the session you are in and waits for the next time you use that site again. This provides useful information to LCI, enabling it to recognize repeat users, facilitate the user's access to and use of the site, and allow a site to track usage behavior, which lets LCI make content improvements. Such cookies are used only for this purpose, and they are not used to identify users or to track their usage of other sites. In the instance you opt-in for marketing materials or sign up for an account with LCI the information the cookies collect may be tied to your specific identity.
If you do not want a cookie placed on your computer as a result of using a LCI website, you can disable cookies altogether by modifying the preferences section of your Web browser. Note that, if you do so, some aspects of LCI websites may be unavailable to you. If you choose to accept cookies on your hard drive, but wish to be informed of their appearance, you may turn on a warning prompt by modifying the cookie-warning section also located in the preferences section of your Web browser.
Web Beacons / LCI's websites may use a technology known as Web beacons — sometimes called "single-pixel GIFs" — that allow the sites to collect website log information. A Web beacon is a graphic on a Web page or in an email message designed to track pages viewed or messages opened. Website log information is gathered when you visit one of our websites. The Web server automatically recognizes some non-personal information, such as the date and time you visited our site, the pages you visited, the website you came from, the type of browser you are using, the type of operating system you are using, and the domain name and address of your Internet service provider. We may also include Web beacons in promotional email messages to determine whether messages have been opened.
External Links Disclaimer / Some of LCI's websites link to other sites created and maintained by other public- and/or private-sector organizations. LCI provides these links solely for your information and convenience. When you transfer to an outside website, you are leaving the LCI website, and LCI's information management policies no longer apply. LCI encourages you to read the privacy statement of each and every website that you visit before you provide any personal information.
Communicating With Us / If you choose to contact LCI staff using an email address, a discussion forum, a blog, a text message or other electronic communications method, or if you choose to complete an online form provided on anLCI website (for example, customer feedback form), we may ask you to provide your name, email address or other personal information. You will be provided with a notice of collection statement, which includes LCI 's legal authority for the collection; the principal purposes for which the personal information is intended to be used; and the title, business address and business telephone number of anLCI employee who can answer questions about the collection.
The purpose of collecting this information is to allow LCI staff to respond to your inquiry or to evaluate individual Web services. Only authorized staff will have access to the information provided, and the information will be used only for the purpose it was intended. Completed surveys are sent to staff anonymously. We will ask you to provide us only with a method of contacting you (email, phone, fax or mailing address) if you wish to be included in future surveys or to have us respond to you.
From time to time, we record phone calls for training purposes. If you do not wish your call to be recorded, please inform the person you are calling or the operator, or hang up.
Security / LCI implements necessary technical and organizational security controls to protect your personal data against loss or misuse. Your data will be stored in a secure operating environment that is not accessible without authorization.

If you believe that we might have any information from a child under the age of 13, please inform us through the Contact Us page.
Parental participation: We strongly recommend that minors 13 years of age or older ask their parents for permission before sending any information about themselves to anyone over the Internet, and we encourage parents to teach their children about safe Internet use practices.
Applicable Law / This privacy policy is governed by and will be interpreted in accordance with the laws of the United States.
If you use our services and reside outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to the U.S. and will be processed and stored there under U.S. privacy standards. By using our services and providing information to us, you consent to such transfer to the U.S. and processing there.
How We Use Your Information / LCI uses the information collected to provide a safe, efficient and customized experience. Here are some of the details on how we do that:
- To manage the service — We use the information we collect to provide our services and features to you, to measure and improve those services and features, and to provide you with customer support. We use the information to prevent potentially illegal activities and to enforce our terms and conditions. We also use a variety of technological systems to detect and address anomalous activity, and screen content to prevent abuse, such as spam. These efforts may, on occasion, result in a temporary or permanent suspension or termination of some functions for some users.
- To contact you — We may contact you with service-related announcements from time to time. We may also contact you for marketing related information, product discounts, coupons, offers, incentives and general company news. You may opt out of all communications except for essential updates. To unsubscribe or opt-out of communications you can do so by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link found on the bottom of our marketing e-mails or by contacting us directly.
- To serve personalized advertising to you — We don't share your information with advertisers without your consent. We allow advertisers to choose the characteristics of users who will see their advertisements, and we may use any of the non-personally-identifiable attributes we have collected to select the appropriate audience for those advertisements. When you click on or otherwise interact with an advertisement, there is a possibility that the advertiser may place a cookie in your browser and that your attributes meet the criteria the advertiser selected.
Location-Based Services / LCI provides services based on your geographic location (IP address, user profile data and GSM service data). We monitor, collect and use your geographic location information, as well as other information obtained from our network and your device, to provide you with these services, and to maintain and improve our network.
The information you receive in connection with your use of location-based services may include advertisements related to your request and your location.
When you use LCI's location-based services, you will receive prior notice and must give your consent before your location will be used or shared. The form of consent will be suited to the type of LCI services you utilize.
When you use location-based services that are not from LCI, then the terms of service and privacy policies of that other provider will govern.
How We Share Your Information / To provide services: LCI may share your personal information with agents, contractors or partners of LCI in connection with services that these individuals or entities perform for or with LCI. These agents, contractors or partners are restricted from using this data in any way other than to provide services for LCI, or for the collaboration in which they and LCI are engaged (for example, some of our products are developed and marketed through joint agreements with other companies). We may, for example, provide your information to agents, contractors or partners for hosting our databases, data processing or mailing you information that you requested. We may also share data with partners to contact you based on a request you submit to receive such communications. We are not responsible for the communications of third party partners. You can opt-out from 3rd party communications by contacting them directly.
To make a payment: When you enter into transactions with others or make payments on LCI's website, we will share transaction information with those third parties necessary to complete the transaction. We will require those third parties to agree to respect the privacy of your information.
To respond to legal requests and prevent harm: LCI reserves the right to share your information to respond to duly authorized information requests of governmental authorities or where required by law. In exceptionally rare circumstances where national, state or company security is at issue (such as terrorist attacks), LCI reserves the right to share our entire database of visitors and customers with appropriate governmental authorities.
We never sell your personal information to third parties, such as marketers, without your consent. We do not provide any personal information to "people finder," "public directory" or "white pages" sites.
In the event that our company is involved in a bankruptcy, merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, your information may be sold or transferred as part of that transaction. The promises in this privacy policy will apply to your information as transferred to the new entity.
Requesting Access to Personal Information / In addition to the information that is available on LCI's website, you have the right to access personal information LCI holds about you, all subject to the exemptions as contained in applicable laws and regulations. All you need to do is ask, and LCI will be happy to assist you. Your identity will need to be confirmed before you are provided with access to personal information. Generally, LCI does not charge for providing information, but if the request requires significant staff time, LCI reserves the right to charge a fee for such requests.
We ask that you put your request in writing. An access request form is available on LCI's website for you to fill out. If you choose to write a letter rather than fill out a form, please include the following:
1Your full mailing address
2Daytime telephone number
3Names of specific files or types of records to which you request access, including specific dates of those records, where possible
Please provide as much detail as possible.
All formal access requests will be directed to the privacy team, who will then review each request to determine if LCI will disclose the requested information. The privacy team will also receive and address all privacy complaints LCI receives. The privacy team can be reached at the address listed on the Contact Us page.
You will be notified if access to the records you have requested is granted or denied and which exemptions apply.
Right to Be Forgotten / LCI does not store personal information without need. We follow laws that require us to delete personal information if the reason for its collection and storage does not exist any longer. We believe this fulfills the requirements of the privacy principle of the "right to be forgotten."
If you have registered your personal details with us, you can deactivate your account at any time. Once deactivated, your account will be irrevocably suspended, ensuring that nobody can use that account identifier again to prevent impersonation.
Enforcement and Audit / LCI uses a self-assessment approach to ensure compliance with this privacy policy and periodically verifies that the policy is accurate, comprehensive for the information intended to be covered, prominently displayed, completely implemented and accessible, and in conformity with privacy principles.
Collaboration With Authorities / LCI will cooperate with the regulatory authorities — in particular, data protection agencies of the countries in which LCI operates. This relates in particular to the notification of privacy breaches as required by law. LCI will observe the authorities' findings, provided that they have been rendered following due process of law.
Review and Ratification / We may occasionally update this privacy policy. To ensure that the importance of this privacy policy is communicated uniformly throughout the enterprise, the legal department of LCI will review, update and ratify this privacy policy, at least annually.
For material changes to this privacy policy, we will notify you by placing a prominent notice on the home page of our website or by directly sending you a notification. We encourage you to periodically review this privacy policy to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect.
