Health (Immunisation) Regulations 1999
1.Objectives
The objectives of these Regulations are to—
(a)prescribe infectious diseases; and
(b)provide for the immunisation of children.
2.Authorising provisions
These Regulations are made under sections 146, 390 and 391 of the Health Act 1958.
3.Commencement
These Regulations come into operation on 1January 2000.
4.Revocation
The Health (Immunisation) Regulations 1990[1] are revoked.
5.Prescribed infectious diseases
For the purposes of Part VII of the Health Act 1958 the prescribed infectious diseases are—
(a)Diphtheria;
(b)Haemophilus influenzae Type B (Hib);
(c)Measles;
(d)Mumps;
(e)Pertussis (Whooping Cough);
(f)Poliomyelitis;
(g)Rubella;
(h)Tetanus.
6.Immunised
r. 6
"Immunised" in relation to a child, means—
(a)the child has received the vaccine and the number of vaccinations in columns 3 and 4 respectively of Schedule 1 for each prescribed infectious disease; or
(b)the child has, in respect of—
(i)Diphtheria, Haemophilus influenzae TypeB (Hib), Pertussis and Tetanus, received the vaccine in column 3 of Schedule 1 and the number of vaccinations approved by an authorised officer for each of those prescribed infectious diseases; and
(ii)all other prescribed infectious diseases other than those referred to in sub-paragraph (i), received the vaccine and the number of vaccinations in columns 3 and 4 respectively of Schedule 1 for each of those prescribed infectious diseases.
7.Immunisation status certificate
For the purposes of section 144(3) of the Health Act 1958 an immunisation status certificate must be in the form of Schedule2.
8.Records to be kept

(1)If an immunisation status certificate is issued by a member of staff of a Council, the Council must keep a record of the information in that certificate for a period of 7 years after the certificate is issued.
(2)The person in charge of a primary school must keep a record of the information in each immunisation status certificate given to the school for the period that the child in respect of whom the certificate was issued attends the school.
9.Access to records
A person in charge of a primary school must allow access to immunisation status certificates to an authorised officer at any reasonable time.

1.General Information
The Health (Immunisation) Regulations 1999, S.R.No.44/1999 were made on 28 April 1999 by the Governor in Council under sections 146, 390 and 391 of the Health Act 1958, No.6270/1958 and came into operation on 1January 2000: regulation 3.
The Health (Immunisation) Regulations 1999 will sunset 10 years after the day of making on 28 April 2009 (see section 5 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1994).
