Understanding the ClassFlow Layout

Opening Page – Classes Access

From left to right:

  • Home – Home is a place to search for already created content (This content is not BCPS vetted.). Teachers can also select Create to build a lesson, Deliver to play a lesson, Collaborate to work with others while building a lesson, Reward to give students badges, Manage to see you classes, courses, or resources, and Report to review assessment data. This is also where teachers can find videos and text to teach them about the many features of ClassFlow.
  • Classes – Clicking the Classes button will reveal classes and recent activities. Additional information will appear in the navigation panel on the left.
  • My Resources – Accesses 3 folders: My Resources where lessons are saved; BCPSCommunity which will be a BCPS district folder for curriculum and instruction offices vetted lessons; and ClassFlow Resource Pack, which is a library of images and backgrounds.
  • Marketplace – The Marketplace is where teachers can search for already created content (This content is not BCPS vetted.).
  • Reports – By clicking Reports teachers canreview assessment data.
  • Instant Whiteboard – Opens a whiteboard session in the Presenter view. Annotation tools are available. Cards are projected or sent to students. Additional cards can be added. The stack of cards can be saved as a lesson.
  • Chat – Teachers can start and access conversations with individual students, groups of students, or the whole class.
  • Reward – Teachers can choose from many existing badges or build their own to reward students for specific behaviors.
  • Support – Talk with a Promethean support team member, access the online support community, or search help videos and text.
  • Profile – Edit the user profileand log out.

My Resources

In the navigation panel on the left are My Resources, BCPS Community, ClassFlow Resource Pack, and ClassFlow Community.

  • My Resources– When selected a list of lessons and other objects appear. Select a specific lesson and then edit it or play it for the class.
  • BCPS Community– This folder will contain lessons approved by curriculum offices for district use.
  • ClassFlow Resource Pack – A cloud-based resource of images and other objects. Specific objects can be saved to the ClassFlow Drive or downloaded to another location.
  • ClassFlow Community – This folder contains lessons created by teachers outside of Baltimore County.

At the top of the navigation panel is the New button.

Clicking it opens a drop-down menu.

  • Folder - Create folders to organize files, and upload files and flipcharts.
  • Lesson–The stack of cards that make up a lesson can be presented and shared with students in a teacher-directed activity.
  • Assignment – Students complete this timed activity at their own pace.
  • Assessment – Add a variety of questions and allow students to work at their own pace and level.
  • Learning Pack – A type of folder to organize your resources based on a topic, course, etc.
  • Item Bank – A set of questions that can be added to a lesson or assessment.
  • Course – A way to organize your units and lessons
  • Rubric – Rubrics are attached to assignments only.
  • Badge – Create a new badge to use when rewarding students.
  • File Upload – Upload any file from your desktop (PDFs, images, Word documents, videos, etc.).
  • Webpage URL –Upload web links to be added to lessons and assignments.
  • Flipchart Upload – Upload already created Flipcharts.
  • SMART Notebook Upload – Upload already created SMART Notebooks.

Instant Whiteboard

Clicking the Instant Whiteboard button opens a card in the Presenter view. This view includes:

  • Whiteboard – This becomes the first card in the lesson stack.
  • Tool bar – Its default location is the top left side. This can be changed in the Settings at the top. The tool bar has annotation tools and buttons for showing and sharing the lesson.
  • A visual list of the cards

  • A set of function button in the top right of the page
