International Coffee Week will be present at the Specialty Coffee Expo in Seattle

Between April 20 and 23, Seattle, USA, hosts the largest specialty coffee event in the world: the Global Specialty Coffee Expo, organized by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). It is at this great international meeting point that the organizing team of the International Coffee Week (ICW) will enhance contacts and dissemination of the largest Brazilian event in the sector.

With the concept "Your coffee journey begins in Brazil", ICW presents to the international public and potential buyers of Brazilian coffees the importance of being in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, from October 25 to 27, 2017. Focusing on the beginning of the coffee journey in Brazil, the concept of communication is to present to potential visitors of the event the opportunity to connect with the new Brazilian crop. Asponsorship in the event main media will be highlighted: the Digital Daily Edition, published daily in The Specialty Coffee Chronicle,accessed during the Seattle Expo by thousands of visitors from all over the world.

Besides, during the Global Specialty Coffee Expo, the SIC team will be in strategic meetings with partners to present this concept, to invite international speakers and to bring the main trends for the Brazilian event. According to Caio Alonso Fontes, Planning Director of Café Editora: "Being present at SCA brings about important contacts to ICW and encourages Brazilian and international brands to make the connection to the event."

One of the main objectives of International Coffee Week is to promote the coffee producing regions of Minas Gerais and Brazil. During the event, in Belo Horizonte, cuppingtables and competitions are held gathering samples of the best grains picked in the new harvest.

In its fifth issue, ICW will be held for the first time in October, enabling coffee farmers to present the best of their harvest to domestic and international buyers, roasters and exporters.

The International Coffee Week (ICW) is an initiative of the FAEMG System, Café Editora, Sebrae and Minas Gerais government, through the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply of the State of Minas Gerais (Seapa). From 25 to 27 October 2017, atExpominas, in Belo Horizonte,ICW will gather the entire production chain of the national and international coffee sector, favoring the socially and economically sustainable growth of the Brazilian product. The meeting involves coffee growers, roasters, classifiers, exporters, buyers, suppliers, business owners, baristas, coffee shop owners and coffee lovers. More than 25 simultaneous events focusing on the areas of Market & Consumption, Knowledge & Innovation and Business & Entrepreneurship will be held during the three days.
