Dell Data Protection | Endpoint Recovery TMJan. 19, 2016
Changes for 1.0.4.0
- Network Servers: there is a new page in Settings named “Network Servers”. This page lets you establish network credentials when required for backup and restore. Select “Add Server” to define credentials for a server. You can also “Clear Credentials” and “Disconnect” a server.
The old network credentials in a form are no longer supported except during the Startup Wizard.
Instead there is a network credentials button for any shared path in a form.
As part of this change, if you had a generic credential in system settings that credential will need to be re-entered in the Network Servers page. - Import Destination: Improvements to the on-screen dynamic view of an import. Fixes to the security model.
- Restore Alerts: if you do a long-running restore you can now enable Restore alerts to send you an alert on failure. See the “Restore Failure” option on the Account Settings page.
- Attach Destination: some improvements to the security model to make attach more robust.
- Home Page: now lists offline destinations under the destinations section and shows as warning if there are any.
- Destination Protection: add the ability to set a destination to read-only or append-only. This is not yet 100% secure but it does work.
- Delete User: this now deletes all policies belonging to the user
- Backup File Counting: repaired to stop counting folders that fail the exclude test
- Restore Page: removed blank trailing column in the version grid
- Online Help: Microsoft Edge no longer allows running from an administrator account so we have disabled the online help request when running the gui as administrator
- Cleanup History: some improvements to the cleanup command
- Defragment: repaired a possible infinite loop when defragmenting a failed destination
- Restore: default to the first destination on first run of this page
- Import Destination: added a Go to Dashboard button
- Tooltips: numerous tooltips were improved. The main menu expander tooltip was restricted to the expander.
- Export System Settings: we now have the ability to export all program settings. Import is not yet available. See the System Settings page.
- Database Server Startup: after a long failed backup and shutdown the database server would not start up in the allowed 30 seconds on slow computers. The startup options have been changed to start asynchronously.
- Security Seeding: some improvements to initial security configuration
- Restore in non-English: Restore did not work in any language but English. That has been fixed.
