Introduction:

The International Facilities Management Association is an organization comprised of all levels of facilities management professionals and associate sales and service vendors who support the facilities management profession. Facility management is the coordination of the physical workplace with the people and work of an organization. It is the integration of business administration, architecture, and the behavioral and engineering sciences. IFMA is dedicated to the improvement of the profession of facilities management in all areas of business, industry, science, education, and government.

IFMA- Oregon & SW Washington Chapter is dedicated to promoting the facilities management profession. To further this objective, our chapter awards academic scholarships to Full-time students pursuing a degree in facilities, engineering, construction management, building construction, project management, computer sciences, business, or other related fields. Current IFMA members who are pursuing career advancement by taking courses to obtain accreditation or further their careers are also eligible.

Neil Moodhe Memorial Scholarships are awarded to individuals who are interested in attending classes or courses at the post high school level at an accredited or certified institution or a program to further their facilities career. This includes but is not limited to preparation and course fees for the CFM exam. It is specifically designed to support and encourage continuing education.

At least one scholarship of up to $1,000 will be awarded each year, up to a maximum of $5,000 annually. Scholarships of $250 or $500 may additionally be awarded at the discretion of the scholarship committee. Any unused portion of scholarship funds will be returned to the IFMA – Oregon & SW Washington Scholarship fund for future awards.

Eligibility:

Applicants for Neil Moodhe Scholarships must be currently enrolled students or current IFMA members pursing career advancement in a qualifying field.

Applicants must be members of IFMA – Oregon & SW Washington Chapter, or their immediate family who are or will be furthering their education in one of the before mentioned fields. Exceptions may beapproved by a majority vote of the scholarship committee.

  • Academic performance and career goals35%
  • Extracurricular activities (community service, facilities related involvement, work study, etc) 35%
  • Essay addressing your studies and how they relate to the facilities field, as well as your academic goals. Your essay will be graded on the basis of content, organization, and grammar. 30%
