They have decided to give at least $150,000 a year to the community in which you live. Your job is to write a memorandum to the President of the team outlining how you suggest the money be spent. Remember, part of the goal is spending money to make money. You want the donations to be useful to the community and helpful to your public image.
Student is to give this assignment a lot of thought and take it seriously. He/she will research the efforts of the Bulls and others in the community currently so as not to duplicate efforts already in place. The student should consider what areas possibly get the worst publicity and determine what could be done to try to help turn that around. Give students the following scenario: Create a mock-up of a poster using a program on your computer. Use pictures, words and phrases representing all of the possible sources of income for a city hosting a major golf tournament. Some examples might include: ticket sales, program sales and hotel sales. We will display the mock-ups in our room. Be creative!!!

It's an apt backdrop for a sometimes contentious debate within the NCAA and its more than 300 Division I schools: How far should the NCAA and its members go to boost revenue at a time when the nation's fiscal crisis is weighing on college athletics?
