Dog registration fees

Proof must be provided for all criteria.

No concession / Restricted breed dog; declared dangerous dog; menacing dog. No concession applies.
Exempt / Free / Guide dogs used by visually impaired or owned by an approved organisation which trains guide dogs; State or Commonwealth Government dogs. Proof must be provided.
Free / First year free / Dogs purchased from a registered animal shelter. Proof must be provided. Registration renewal fee applicable after first year.

A State Government levy from the fees collected ($2.50 for each cat registration and $3.50 for each dog registration) is used to fund responsible pet ownership programs.

Lifetime registration tag
As part of this application you’ll receive a lifetime registration tag for your pet. Replacement tags are not sent annually. However, if your tag is lost or damaged, contact us and we can send you a free replacement.
