Introduction
Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teachers,
Welcome to the CTE TEACH Early Orientation program. By completing the six CTE TEACH Early Orientation modules, you will meet one of your first requirements in obtaining the Designated Subjects Career and Technical Education teaching credential. At this time, the following credential programs (who are the Commission Approved Program Sponsor or CAPS) recognize the CTE TEACH Early Orientation program:
· California State University, San Bernardino
· Los Angeles County Office of Education
· Metropolitan Education District
· North State BTSA
· Orange County Department of Education
· San Diego County Office of Education
· Tri-County BTSA Program
· University of California, Redlands
You should consider enrolling in one of these credential programs to complete your credential preparation requirements.
As you begin the Early Orientation program, you will find that each module has a welcome page introducing you to the topics of each module, links to articles, videos, required readings, discussion postings, on your own activities and assessments. This content has been carefully prepared to make sure the program meets the Early Orientation requirements as prescribed by the California Teaching Credentialing Commission.
To ensure you are prepared for the classroom and your new career as a CTE teacher, it is of the utmost importance that you complete all assignments and activities. Your Commission Approved Program Sponsor (CAPS), county office of education, or university will monitor your progress online. The time you spend in completing the assignments will be monitored to make certain ample attention is applied.
Upon successful completion of all work, you will be able to print out a Certificate of Completion to share with your employer and CAPS. Effective CTE educators are lifelong learners who are always seeking ways to improve and grow. It is our hope that you will find this Early Orientation Program valuable and will return to use our online Professional Development Program as a resource and reference.
CTE TEACH wishes you much success in your career as a CTE educator.
