1. Ordinary Meeting
a. Matters Arising (those not covered elsewhere)
· Financial Report – attached
· Small Tools and Site Assessment - Dave has agreed to run a second course so we need to gather together a list of names and contact details for people who would like to attend this.
· Entrust registration - application has now been submitted. Entrust registration is required in order to be able to apply for landfill tax funding. Opportunity has come up to assist with the final section of the Pennine Bridleway route if PMBA was Entrust registered it could apply for funding for this final section. Potentially good PR for the group with relatively little work as Tony L would manage the project.
· VIA attended the last Brownbacks race and helped out as marshals to get a feel for what is involved. Feedback was good and they have indicated that they would like to help out with future events..
b. Access
· Access Forums – Mark Stapleton will be attending the Lancs Access Forum on Tuesday the 26th of June.
· Access Information – Bill brought up the West Pennine Moors feeder routes as no progress has recently been made in developing these in line with the original plans.
c. Projects
· Jons routes we are now planning on calling them the "Rolling Boar" routes linking them to the new sculpture we are planning for Cragg Quarry. Final bid for the funding went in on 22nd June. We are not sure when we will hear the result hopefully before the end of the summer.
· Pump Tracks – There is some confusion over whether the Edgeside pump track needs planning permission or not. Either way a plan needs drawing up to progress this project (AW & JS).
Additional pump track renovations at Whitaker Park and Goodshaw are also being considered.
· Marl Pits - Long term project, no progress to report.
· Lancashire Environmental Fund opportunities. We need to identify some simple projects so we can make use of the NTrust registration and access the LEF funding. Ideas put forward at the meeting.
1. Green / Blue routes on Crown Point to complement the existing bridleways.
2. Coppice site in Accrington.
3. Further development of the Hurstwood site, upgrade the permissive bridleway.
(See attached document for details of the above 3)
4. Pennine Bridleway extensions.
5. General bridleway upgrades.
d. Site issues
· Lee Quarry Update – Ride On have been official identified as the official development partner for the trail head which is excellent news. This decision needs confirming at the next RBC Cabinet meeting. Anticipated timescales are now to get the planning applications through by early 2013 with build completion in 2014. Pumptracks have just been redone by Back On Track keep your eyes on the Singletrack web site for a video etc linked to this. Adrenaline Gateway steering group meeting is planned for Wednesday July the 4th. JS to represent PMBA although other members will also be attending representing other groups as well.
· Gisburn Update – The additional trail development is ongoing with the linking trails pretty much complete. Work is well on with the skills loops. Car park work is yet to start. As the trails will cross the car park site the opening of the new trails will be delayed until the car park works are completed for safety reasons.
· Healey Nab (repairs & funding) – Tony L has been using Facebook and meeting people on site to chat through issues. Difficult to pull a group together but not impossible. Struggling to fix a date for a dig day that doesn't clash with events, holidays etc. probably going to be September/October now before a date can be sorted out.
· Cock Hill Wood – No update.
· Hurstwood - White No sugar are going to be doing a video for us on Hurstwood trails with Craig and his son, Rowan and Ed with the aim of promoting the trail and showing a range of different ways it can be ridden. It will add to our list of good quality local videos.
e. Communication
· SingleTrack Weekender Presence (who, When, What, Why) – Andy MacNae to drive our weekender presence. Joint venture with Ride On and / or LCC. MS, WO, JS to support. JS to send PDF site map to AM and MS.
· Promotional Materials (stickers, posters, Jerseys).
· GoPro Video – Craig to lend Tim Royale a Go Pro so he can take some footage with it whilst doing some other filming work at various sites. Go Pro / Madison won’t commit to anything until they’ve seen the footage.
· Website – AM spoke to Urban Soul. JS to identify the sort of support required. Initial thoughts are along the lines of design work, layout critique and possibly search engine optimisation.
