1.Could you share your academic and/or professional experience in the past?
I graduated from Sungkyunkwan University in South Korea with Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and English Literature and Language. For three years, I worked as industrial relations, employment, and education researcher in the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry. After participating volunteer activities in India, I decided to commit myself into addressing economic and social problems in developing countries and thereafter obtained master’s degrees in public policy and international relations at Seoul National University and University of Tokyo. Until recently, I worked as a program officer in the Korea International Cooperation Agency.
2. What are you recently absorbed in?
Research Activities / Asa personal interest, I keep abreast of foreign aid trends of three Northeast Asian countries. Recently, I am particularly studying on China’s foreign aid in the Xi Jinping Era and ODA budgetary system and fragmentation of major donor countries.
Personal Interests / Since I moved back to Tokyo to join my husband, I have enjoyed travelling during weekends to discover Japanese culture and history. Also, I am recently absorbed in learning R programming and Google Analytics.
3. What do you want to achieve in the near future?
In the near future, I would like to work for planning and managing development projects and programs which can help people in developing countries resolve their own economic and social problems such as poverty, malnutrition, education, and sanitation.
4. How do you want to contribute to UNISEC-Global activities(Vision 2030-ALL)?
As a UNISEC Global intern, I would like to contribute to facilitating exchanges among university students all around the word and raising public awareness on UNISEC-Global’s activities. For several months from now, I will assist in establishing more local chapters and arranging conferences, workshops, and meetings including the Sixth UNISEC-Global Meeting.
