Approval of Minutes from Council Meeting held on December 7, 2016

·  A motion was made to accept the minutes as submitted. The motion was seconded and carried unanimously.

·  The Admission to Candidacy Ceremony is scheduled for February 17, 2017. The GRC is scheduled for March 13, 2017.

·  The GRC is scheduled for March 29, 2017.

·  New travel grant coordinator started Monday, February 6, 2017.

Committee Reports

Program Review

·  Chemistry and Biochemistry Three Year Progress Report

o  The Program Review Committee found that the recommendations made during the review were met with appropriate actions. In response to the committee’s concern about the department being in danger of losing accreditation, the Graduate Council recommends a written statement from the department chair ensuring accreditation is retained.

The council decided to approve and table the review until the March meeting with the expectation that the chair will send an email or memo in response to the committee’s questions.

o  The Program Review Committee found that the recommendations made during the review were met with appropriate actions

The committee recommends approval of the review. A motion was made to accept the committee’s recommendation. The motion was properly seconded and carried unanimously.

Policy on Student Academic Honesty

·  A draft of the policy was created and a discussion was made of having the policy reflect the same information between the two campuses. The policy will be reviewed during the next meeting.
