Peer Review for Character Analysis Essays

Trade essays with a partner. Read and discuss essays together looking for the changes/revisions that can be made. Don’t just say, “Sure, that’s good.” Look for ways to make it “WOW” worthy!

Read twice!

First Read: Get the editing out of the way! Look for:

·  Spelling

·  End punctuation

·  Comma usage

·  Integrated quotations- use of quotes and brackets

·  Capitalization

·  Subject/verb agreement and pronoun/antecedent agreement (EVERYONE needs HIS or Her paper. – for example.)

·  Run-on sentences or fragments (One complete thought per sentence, please!)

Make corrections ON the draft. Talk to your partner about them as you go.
