Political cartoons are primary resources that offer intriguing and entertaining insights into the public mood, the underlying cultural assumptions of age, and attitude towards current events or key events. The use of characters are symbolic or representative of an issue or concept.

The ice caps at the North Pole have melted.
3. Analysis – Connect the information in the cartoon----ASK WHY??? & WHAT???
Possible reasons are Greenhouse Effect, Global Warming cause Climate Change.
Burning of fossil fuels by humans add greenhouse gasses to the atmosphere.
4. Conclusion – Explain what the artist is trying to convey or explain in the cartoon.
In this political carton the artist was trying to convey the message that climates are changing. This is most evident in places such as the North Pole where the ice caps continue to melt at alarming speeds most likely due to the Greenhouse Effect & Global Warming. Possible causes are humans burning fossil fuels which release CO2 & other gasses into the atmosphere. If this continues then the World’s climates will experience change.
