ACCOUNTABLE TO:Lead Learner of Modern Foreign Languages
JOB PURPOSE:To teach MFL throughout the school and to foster all aspects of MFL across the curriculum.

All staff at St George’s C of E Foundation School are expected to actively support and promote the vision and values of the school including the Child Protection and safety procedures.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- The day to day teaching, organisation and progress of the subject area in regard to the teaching groups assigned to him/her.
- Regular marking of students books using RAG stickers
- The development of the syllabus, schemes of work and reviewing themes when necessary.
- The organisation of his/her teaching groups in regard to assessment and recording, together with internal and external examination.
- Attending regular subject area meetings.
- Liaising with other curriculum areas and outside agencies when necessary.
- Assist in arrangements where possible for absent colleagues.
- Assisting with subject finances.
- Organising and caring for stock, equipment and furnishings assigned to him/her.
- Reporting to and advising the Lead Learner of MFL and other departmental members of all aspects of work and progress in the subject area which he/she has carried out with the teaching groups assigned to him/her.
This job description will be reviewed annually by negotiation between the Lead Learner of MFL and any full time Teacher of MFL.

MODERN FOREIGN LANGUAGES TEACHER
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Degree and/or teaching certificate. Have the ability to teach MFL to all ability and age levels including GCSE.
- Must be committed to fostering all aspects of MFL in the school.
- Must be interested in developing MFL in education within the school, with a desire to develop cross-curricular links with other subject areas in the school.
- Must be energetic/confident, dynamic, tenacious and resilient and display a good sense of humour.
- Must be able to work as part of a team and have a responsible approach to the job.
