Carolyn Henry

Call to Order: Amy Smith-Moniz

The meeting was called to order at 3:02 pm by Amy Smith-Moniz.

Secretary report: Carolyn Henry

House Committee: C. Henry: no report

Treasurer’s Report: Deb Wolk

Deb attended the CV Finance Committee on April 21, 2016. Major discussion items included a review of the Q1 2016 financial position of the Club, the bank refinancing and the capital contributions (bonds) update. Of some concern are membership levels which at the end of the quarter were below budget. It is hoped that membership levels will improve by the end of the second quarter. A positive was the number of golf rounds, both cart rounds and guest rounds, in the first quarter which were up significantly due to the mild weather.

The debt refinancing ballot item passed overwhelmingly at the Annual Meeting. The Club is targeting mid- May to finalize the transaction with the lender.

The Club paid off 10 resigned member bonds in April.

The CVWGA checking account has a balance of $4,441.18 as of 5/2/2016 and the CD balance is $2,183.17. Since the last Board meeting, $18.00 has been spent (for Spring Meeting decorations).

Tournament expenses are under budget so far this year by $93.50. The Tee to Green tournament was rained out so nothing was paid out for that ($136.00), however the April 19 Low Net in Classes tournament achieved maximum payout status so this payout was $42.50 over budget.

Trophy: D. Kolodziejski and L. Kennedy

Amy and Diane have finishing photo documenting the Men’s Locker Room trophies and plaques. All that remains are the 19th hole trophies and a few in the bar area.

Mixed Anniversary Bowl—5/29 Carole and Jim Mackrell are running this tournament.

Nine Holers Update :S. Scartozzi and J. Rosenberg

The 9- Hole Invitational with St. David’s to be held on 5/25 will include Hershey’s Mill, as well. Jonathan reached out to them and their 9 hole rep got back to Sue. They are very excited to participate. The theme is “Safari Party” with a shamble format.

Lori has set the Twilight Golf schedule and had Beth Garner add a link on the CV Website under Women’s Tournaments. The first event is scheduled for 5/20—Couples Scramble. As of now there are 24 signed up to play.

Lori reached out to me and Jonathan to clarify whether Pool & Racquets members can play Twilight Golf even though the Bylaws state that they cannot play in tournaments. Jonathan responded that Twilight Golf is considered a social event and not an official tournament. Pool & Racquets, as well as Social, are eligible. Beth Garner confirmed for Lori that for Associate and Pool & Racquets members the Twilight Golf rounds do not count toward their six rounds permitted for the year and that there are no greens fees for these classifications as well. Lori inquired about the possibility of offering babysitting at the club on Twilight Golf nights and Beth suggested that she speak to Paul about coordinating a Kids Club night with Twilight.
