CITYVU BISTRO’S SHELLY RASH TO DEMONSTRATE
EVERYTHING STRAWBERRY AT THE CHEF SERIES
Holland, MI – On Saturday, June 29, Chef Shelly Rash from CityVu Bistro in Downtown Holland will join the Holland Farmers Market Chef Series, sponsored by Local First. Beginning at 10:00 am that morning, Rash will teach attendees how to preserve all of the fresh strawberries that are abundant at the Farmers Market so they can be enjoyed all year long. He will also demonstrate how to prepare, strawberry rhubarb pie, strawberry vinaigrettes, a strawberry barbeque sauce and more. Stop by to learn why strawberries are such versatile food perfect great for any occasion!
CityVu Bistro is located on the fifth floor of CityFlats Hotel in Downtown Holland and is known for their fresh, locally sourced ingredients and healthy, yet delicious dishes. CityVu Bistro Executive Chef Shelly Rash began his career with formal culinary training at the prestigious Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. Before joining the team at CityVu Bistro, Rash worked in restaurants across the country including the famous Trio in Chicago. Heenjoys visiting the Farmers Market and incorporating delicious, in-season produce into all of his dishes.
The Chef Series is held at 10:00 am every Saturday morning at the Holland Farmers Market from May 18 to September 14 and is free to attend. Local First is the exclusive sponsor of the 2013 Chef Series. The Chef Series is also supported by in-kind donations from Visser Farms, a family farm in Zeeland that has been in business since 1902.
The Holland Farmers Market is open every Wednesday and Saturday beginning at 8:00 am from late-May through mid-December, rain or shine. Be sure to shop early for the best selection! The City of Holland’s Department of Leisure and Cultural Services hosts the Market at the Eighth Street Market Place (150 West Eighth Street) in Downtown Holland.
