SELFDRIVE CONTRACT

1) Any mechanical or other damage caused to the vehicle due to neglect will be charged in full to the client.
2) If the car breaks down it is the client’s obligation to ensure as much as possible that the car remains safe. If the breakdown is due to the client’s neglect, the client will be responsible for any charges incurred returning it to base (see note 10). If the breakdown is due to normal wear and tear the company will provide a replacement car to the client and refund any expenses incurred. The client will take all responsible care that the above is covered.
3) The client will contact Limo Hire Zambia immediately in the event of an accident and make no admission of guilt until LHZ has received advise from the insurer.
4) The client will not travel on ungazetted roads or dirt roads and take excessive care where bad-tarred road conditions exist.
5) The client will be responsible for the daily maintenance of the vehicle i.e. oil checks, coolant level, tyre pressure, etc.
6) The client shall provide safe parking for the vehicle at all times and make sure the gear lock/steering lock is in place whenever the vehicle is unattended.
7) The client shall undertake to observe and follow all traffic laws and adhere to the speed limits.
8) The client shall be named the driver and shall not allow any other persons to drive the vehicle except LHZ drivers. If any accident occurs whilst being driven by a person unauthorized the insurance will be invalidated and the client will be responsible for the total expenses arising out of any accidents.
9) Any theft from the vehicle not covered by insurance will be charged in full to the client.
10) LHZ accepts responsibility for insuring the vehicle. This includes public and passenger liability to a maximum of K 30,000,000 per accident. The insurance excludes mechanical faults resulting from neglect by the client to maintain the vehicle (see notes 4,5,6,7,8) or any other instance whatsoever where the client is proven to be at fault. The client will pay 100% in the event of a write off where he is at fault and 80% of the costs in all other instances where the client is responsible.
11) The insurance does not cover windscreens, tyres/rims and under carriage of the vehicle. Personal property is also not covered by our insurance, nor can Limo Hire Zambia be held responsible for any personal injury or death sustained during the term of the hire contract. LHZ recommends that the hirer should take out travel insurance from a reputable insurance company.
IN THE EVENT OF ANY ACCIDENT THE CLIENT SHOULD ADMIT NO ADMISSION OF LIABILITY WITHOUT CONTACTING LIMO HIRE ZAMBIA WHO WILL SEE AUTHORISATION FROM ITS INSURERS AND ADVICE. PLEASE NOTE THAT FAILURE TO DO THIS COULD RESULT IN OUR INSURANCE BEING INVALIDATED AND LHZ WOULD HOLD THE CLIENT RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL RESULTING COSTS REGARDLESS OF WHO WAS AT FAULT.
12) LHZ provides vehicles with an up to date service record. Any faults occurring whilst the vehicle is on hire should be reported immediately to Limo Hire Zambia.
12) A refundable damage deposit of $1000 will be charged
13) The renter (driver) must be in possession of a valid driving license- minimum age
of 25 years and have 5 years of driving experience.
14) This vehicle will be hired out with a full tank and must be returned thus.
