Overview
This project is designed to give students a real experience in learning what it takes to start and plan a new business. You may work as partners, but you are not required to. In this unit, you will create a business plan and design a logo, business cards, and letterhead.

Tasks
Define your business name, business description (including type of business), management (structure and decision making process) and employees
Marketing:
Define your product or service
Describe your target market
Describe your competition
Develop a marketing plan and advertising materials
Financial:
Prepare a budget of start up expenses (Identify costs to start your business)
Prepare a budget for the first six months – identify the break-even point (income and expenses)

- Can you describe your business in one paragraph or less?
- What is your product or service?
- Who will buy your product or service?
- What is your competition?
- How can you attract and keep customers?
- Where should your office or place of business be located?
- How much should you charge for your product or service?
- Where can you get help?
