- Bio Information
After gradating from high school and studying two years of college in India, where I was born, I came to the United States. I lived in New York for 9 years, where I worked in Wall Street and with the Government of India. I took some college courses in New York, but received my Bachelors degree in Accounting from the University of Mississippi, where my husband joined the Political Science Department as a professor. I also received a Master Degree in Library Science (MLS) from the University of Mississippi in 1970. Encouraged by my adviser I decided to work for my Ph.D. but due to some circumstances I came back to Oxford and did not finish my degree, but I have taken about 30 credit hours in accounting and finance beyond my Master degree. I also received a diploma in Advanced Income Tax, at the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign, Illinois in 1987. I taught Library Science courses for the University of Mississippi and accounting course at the University of Missouri.
Since 1980, I have been teaching accounting and finance courses at RustCollege. I received twice Fulbright-Hays Study Abroad Seminar award, once to Israel and Egypt fro 7 weeks in 1999, and the second time to South Africa in 2004 to study their economics and accounting systems. I attended and participated in several American Accounting Associations Annual Meetings, as presenter, or moderator. We have one child, a daughter, who is married and lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with her husband and their three children.
