What is Confluence? Confluence is a celebration of International Translation Day bringing together translators, interpreters, educators, and others interested in the field of translation, including its literary, practical, and philosophical dimensions. The conference offers interpretation and translation-focused workshops and presentations, and opportunities for discussion, networking, career development, and celebration.

Friday evening, September 22, 2017: the conference will open with "Translatable," an annual Open Mic event in celebration of International Translation Day, hosted by the DC Area Literary Translators Network (DC-ALT).

Saturday, September 23, 2017, morning and afternoon: conference sessions will feature a variety of workshops and presentations on translation, interpretation, and translation studies. The keynote address is tentatively scheduled to begin Saturday at noon. The day’s schedule will offer opportunities for informal networking.
