Whereas, fully prepared for the challenge, the Marion High School “Lady Swamp Foxes” basketball team crowned its superlative season by capturing the 2009 Class AA State Championship title, defeating Pendleton 5854 at Columbia’s Colonial Center on Saturday, March 7, 2009; and

Whereas, using these talents and attributes, the Lady Swamp Foxes, under the capable leadership of Coach Leon Sturkey, showed fans and foes alike that this victory was no accident; and
Whereas, the House of Representativestakes great pleasure in recognizing the young women of the Marion High School girls’ basketball team for leading with excellence both in the classroom and on the hardwood and expects to hear of continued great achievements in the years ahead. Now, therefore,
