UC Reservations Office Staff

Department: James R. Connor University Center

Reports To: University Center Reservationist

Hours per week: Approximately 10-15 – M-F

High Impact Practice – By incorporating classroom learning into hands-on work experiences as well as providing supervision and coaching, students gain the necessary tools to grow and contribute as professionals. This engagement leads to increased rates of retention, graduation, and job placement.

Position Summary

The Reservations Office Staff plays a vital role in the operations of the University Center. The Reservations Office Staff reserves rooms for Student Organizations, campus departments, outside customers, and also works closely with Catering for events. The Reservations Office Staff must have excellent communication and customer services skills in order to assist customers in a friendly and professional manner throughout the planning process. A majority of office staff shifts will be worked under the guidance of the Reservationist.

Intellectual and Practical Skills

·  Creates door cards for all rooms on a daily basis

Personal and Social Responsibility

·  Makes reservations for meeting rooms and inputs all tech and set-up requests from customers, catering, and technology for the University Center

·  Reserves hall tables (at Esker, Drumlin, and UC), signboards, and outdoor mall space

·  Reserves classrooms in academic buildings for non-timetable reservations

Integrative and Applied Learning

·  Generates the reports (OP Report, Building Use, and Academic Building Use) on a daily basis for the use of Building Managers and Set-up Crew use

Knowledge of Human Cultures and the Physical and Natural World

·  Point of contact for all people using University Center rooms for any issues or last minute requests for the duration of the reservation

Minimum Qualifications

·  Must be a registered UW-Whitewater student and enrolled at least half time

·  Must maintain an overall GPA of 2.0
