Energy Valve Specification Text.

The Energy Valve shall be two port pressure independent and have EQM characteristic flow control in accordance with VDI/VDE 2178 and shall be suitable for modulating control with air-bubble-tight shut-off (EN 12266-1).

Each valve shall have an Ultrasonic or magnetive inductive volumetric flow measurement with a measuring accuracy +/-6% (of 25..100% Vnom), +/-2% (of 25…100% Vnom at 20°C / Glycol 0% volume and a minimum flow measurement of 1% of Vnom.

Energy metering shall be accomplished by utilizing two integrated flow and return temperature sensors providing feedback of the Load inlet and outlet water temperatures and an electronic flow meter to provide analogue or value via, Belimo MP-Bus BACnet or Modbus flow feedback.

Communication shall be via BACnet /IP, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, Belimo MP-Bus with Cloud capability or conventional control.

Remote Control and Monitoring: Real-time data and configuration of valve operating parameters shall be available via the integrated web server or cloud based services.

Cloud Based Services: Secure remote cloud communication to monitor energy usage and provide system data.

Capture system data to improve coil and system performance via analytic technology.

Increase plant efficiency and mitigate Low Delta-T Syndrome to reduce pumping and chiller / boiler operating costs.

The Energy Valve shall be able to provide the following information for the BEMS head-end graphics, or links to web-based graphics, to display and monitor performance of the valves:

~ Actual flow rate.

~ Required flow rate.

~ Actual valve position.

~ Flow temperature.

~ Return temperature.

~ Delta-T. (ΔT)

~ Actual power output

~ Energy consumed.

The Energy Valve shall be able to record historical trend data, including energy use and shall be stored for up to thirteen months.

The maximum flow rate required for the application (i.e. design flow rate) shall be programmed locally by a plug in device or remotely via the Ethernet 10/100 Mbit/s, TCP/IP, integrated web server.

A 2-10Vdc or 0.5-10Vdc input signal from a BEMS Controller shall modulate the flow rate from zero to the design flow rate via a communications signal or a hardwired local input.

Permissible Pressure 1600kPa

Closing Pressure 1400kPa

The set flow rate shall be maintained irrespective of the differential pressure across the valve (16 – 350kPa).

Medium Temperature -10°C - 120°C.

The Energy Valve will be suitable for use with heating and chilled water systems containing glycol up to maximum 50% volume.

Temperature & Glycol: Independent ensures accuracy over entire temperature range and varying glycol concentrations.

Glycol Monitoring: Provides actual glycol % for safe operation and optimized heat exchange.

The Energy Valve shall have an integrated Delta-T Manager. A minimum Delta-T value can be set in the Delta-T Manager to limit the flow rate thereby optimising the coil performance to save pump energy and avoid load differential temperature falling below its programmed set point.

Valve ball shall be stainless steel with PTFE seat. Stem seal shall be O-ring EPDM.

Pipe connections Internal thread according to ISO7-1.

Shall provide bubble tight shut off up to 11 Bar.

Actuator shall have protection class IP54 with EMC CE according to 2014/30/E.

Protection class IEC/EN, III Safety extra-low voltage (SELV).

IP54 (for use of protective cap for RJ45 socket).

Shall have a manual override with lockable push button gear disengagement.

Suitable for mounting in the flow or return, please note that installation in the return is recommended.

In order to achieve the optimum measuring accuracy, a flow-calming section or inflow section in the direction of the flow is to be provided upstream from the flow sensor.

Its dimensions should be at least 5x DN.

All Energy Valves shall have a five year warranty.

Extended seven year warranty applies when connected to the Cloud.
