West Midlands Resources

  • West Midlands Regional Telecare Support produced by Impact Change Solutions as part of a wider programme of telecare and personalisation support in the West Midlands, identifies the capabilities needed to drive telecare use.
  • Automated Medication Dispenser Project. The first region-wide trial of its kind rolled out the automated pill dispensers to over 250 people and concluded on 31st March 2012. The results are impressive.
  • Falls and Assistive Technology Project. Using technology to support people at risk of falling – what do users want? Project outputs include a Fallcheck app, a public information leaflet, good practice reports, service evaluations etc:

  • Realising greater independence for people with Learning Disabilities in Supported Living. Technology provides the opportunity to increase service user independence on an individual, needs-led basis and allows a more cost effective delivery of support particularly during night hours.
  • Demonstrating how Telecare can reduce the length of stay in hospital or prevent admissions
  • ADASS West Midlands – Telecare – minimising the risk of investment. Exploring the opportunities to position technology at the heart of care and support, and promote more cost effective solutions for individuals and their carers
