4. Formation – PC Binder – Organizational Guidelines – 1st 7 pages. Celeste Leuck will rewrite page 4. There was a suggestion to publish the PC minutes in the Bulletin or on the website; suggestion to include the Parish motto; and a request to have a “Suggestion Box” in the gathering space. Our primary focus of the PC should be “Visioning.” A recommendation was made to read the minutes from other parish organizations especially the Endowment, Finance, School Board, Men’s Club, PTO and Liturgy Committees. The PC requested to view the submissions of parish organizations’ mission statements that were given to the previous Parish Council. Mary Bryne will bring these to the next meeting.
5. Social Time
6. Discussion Items – Parish Council Officers – process for permanent officers- Mary Kay and Mike Mohrmann will remain as Chair and Vice Chair respectively. Mary Bryne requested to step down as Secretary, and Chris Unterreiner agreed to replace her.
Archdiocesan Women’s Award- Vicki Houska was nominated as our parish’s representative to receive the award.
FOCUS for PC for Coming Year- At the May meeting, our topic will be where are we going as a Parish Council?
Suggestions were: a physical assessment feasibility study, that a parish survey be done, and that the Parish Council receive the Financial Committee’s numbers on a quarterly basis. It was also asked if a more focused survey should be undertaken, and it was suggested that we all try to come up with areas to be surveyed at our next meeting.
7. Pastor’s Time: Fr. Jim announced there would be a Catholics Come home follow-up meeting on March 28.
The first DVD in Catholicism Series would start on Monday, April 16, and Tuesday, April 17, and continue for five consecutive weeks. Fr. Jim reminded us that Archbishop Carlson would come to St. Cletus for Confirmation, on May 1 and that First Communion would be held on May 5. Fr. Jim also reported that there were some plans in process concerning the next Men’s CRHP due to the lack of response from men the past two years.
8. Questions and Comments: Because of the Memorial Day holiday, we decided that our May meeting would be on Tuesday, May 29.
9. Meeting closed with the election year prayer from the USCCB’s Faithful Citizenship website
Agenda Meeting to be determined by Executive Board and Fr. Benz
