Education and Training / Recent experience of working with primary children in a pastoral roleUp to date knowledge of SEN
A qualification in childcare or educational support work, e.g. NNEB, BTEC, or NVQ3 / Knowledge of emotional and behaviour issues and how to manage them effectively
Monitoring and reviewing experience of the needs of identified pupils / We are seeking to employ someone who shows commitment to excellence in their own professional career and ensure that the Learning Mentor role remains fully embedded within our school whilst our current practitioners are absent from school.
Relevant Experience / Respect for confidentiality of information
Experience of working and managing own workload
Working alone and able to use own initiative
Dedication to embedding the role within school life
Confidence to work directly with pupils and their families to identify and reduce barriers to learning
Organisational skills to write and review personal action plans and to produce written reports
To have a secureknowledge of TAFs
Experience of working with other external professional agencies including Social Care / Experience of working closely with vulnerable pupils and families
Experience of liaising with other learning mentors and working as part of a cluster group
Ability to work with groups of children
Interest in further professional development
Experience of working withand supporting children in care and writing/attending PEPs
A secure understanding of attachment trauma and ways in which to support pupils / We are seeking to employ someone who is confident, highly motivated, and confidential and can manage a demanding workload.
