Duties and responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Aviation Officer, the incumbent shall carry out the following functions:
- Check and test all relevant equipment and log their serviceability. Report the unserviceable equipment to the Air Operations Center Duty Officer (AOCDO) for appropriate action.
- Ensure that the traffic information of the aircraft that is considered conflicting traffic is passed over to respective flying crews on time.
- Ensure that airfield and HLS surface data (current wind direction and speed, temperature, relevant cloud base, altimeter settings, etc.) is passed to arriving and departing aircraft.
- Ensure in coordination with Ramp Manager, passing of parking positions to arriving aircraft.
- Ensure that estimated and actual arrival / departure times, persons on board and fuel endurance of arriving aircraft are passed over to the AirTrafficTower / Flight Following, Ramp Manager and Fire Fighting team.
- Ensure that UNIFILTower, AOCDO and Airfield Tower Controller are advised on availability of parking positions or otherwise if required.
- Coordinate refueling for UNIFIL aircraft, if required.
- Ensure that start-up approval is obtained for all UNIFIL (Naqoura) aircraft.
- Initiate alerting service in consultation with AOCDO.
- AssistAirOperationsCenter in the provision of flight following.
- Monitor maintaining of radio contact at all times with aircraft within the UNIFILTower area of responsibility.
- Record all landing and departure times, persons on board and fuel endurance of all UNIFIL flights.
- Ensure that mission messages are relayed to UNIFIL flying crews or any changes to the advertised flight schedule if required.
- Monitor any developments in weather and ensure that message is passed to aircraft and to AirOperationsCenter.
- Keep and Record in chronological order all operational and non-operational events in the Flight Information Logbook.
- Responsible, in the absence of Lebanese Air traffic Controller, for providing of advisory information and alerting service to UNIFIL aircraft on transit, landing or taking off from the Airfield.
- Assist AOCDO in his daily duties and perform duties of AiroperationsCenter Flight Follower when required.
- Perform any other duties as delegated by Chief Aviation Officer, AOCDO.
Qualifications and Requirements:
-High School Diploma or equivalent diploma on Air Traffic Control.
-Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience with equivalent organization in the field on Air Traffic Control and Air Information services or other related fields.
-Good computer skills (Word, Excel).
-Fluency in written and spoken English.
