2016 Homecoming Parade
Dear Potential Homecoming Parade Participants:
Thank you for your planned participation in our 2016 Homecoming Activities.
Enclosed you will find an application along with the parade rules and regulations for the 2016 Homecoming Parade. The parade is scheduled for Friday October 14, 2016 and will begin promptly at 3:30 p.m.
The application fee is $25.00 per entry space. The deadline is Wednesday , October 5, 2016. All applications received after the deadline will incur a fee of $30.00. No personal checks. Cash, Organization checks, cashier’s checks, money orders will be accepted forms of payment..
The application fees are NON-REFUNDABLE!!
We are asking all community participants, reunion classes, super reunion classes and campus organizations to decorate their float, car, truck, etc. in Kelly Green, Gold and White.
Once we have received your application along with your NON-REFUNDABLE entry fee, the application will be processed and your organization will be notified on line – up number, parade line –up area, etc. Please provide an email so that this information can be sent to you.
Please be sure to read over ALL the enclosed information. Feel free to call the school at (706) 737-7360 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. for information purposes ONLY! No phone entries will be accepted!! The T.W. Josey Student Council and Homecoming Parade Committee looks forward to your continued participation and support in 2016 and in future years.

HOMECOMING PARADE RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. There is an entry fee of $25.00 per entry space for all NON-RICHMOND COUNTY SCHOOL ENTRIES which includes (marching units, churches, daycare centers, reunion classes, etc.) Richmond County Public Schools are exempted from paying entry fees.
2. Parade entries will be accepted by written application ONLY! NO PHONE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED. The deadline for all entries is Wednesday, October 5, 2015. After the deadline the entry fee is $30.00. Only those with a returned application and paid fees will be given a number to participate.
3. All entries must have name of their organization, business, or group displayed on the front or each side of their vehicle. Please remember to make your signs legible for spectators to read legibly. Make sure all words are spelled correctly.
4. Drivers must have valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. Be prepared to surrender license, registration, and insurance to law enforcement officials if requested.
5. All parade participants shall obey all rules and cooperate fully with parade officials.
6. All entries are to begin lining up at the appropriate time in the appropriate area.
7. Parade participants will not be allowed to move to a different line-up position.
8. Entries not following the rules and regulations of the parade are subject to removal from the parade by Augusta-Richmond County Sheriff Department without a refund.
9. All marching units / marching bands must play music and perform cadences throughout the entire parade.
10. There will be no dirty dancing by the marching and/or walking units. Entries are asked to be mindful that there are minor children watching the parade.
11. All T.W. Josey Comprehensive High School entries are asked to use your school colors! This is your Homecoming! Showcase your school. Show your true Eagle Pride!!
12. Females/Campus Queens!! You are asked to wear formal gowns ONLY!! ABSOLUTELY NO SKIRTS OR BUSINESS SUITS!! NO EXCEPTIONS!!. All campus royalty (king and queens) must be in full formal attire NO EXCEPTIONS!! Kings must wear tuxedos. Young men who have braids or dreads must have them braided neatly and fresh.
13. All participants must be groomed and dressed appropriately.
14. Community participation is highly welcomed, provided that it reflects the T.W. Josey Comprehensive High School Faculty, Staff, Students, Alumni and it’s Associates in a positive light. Any disruptive behavior shown to any organization along the parade route will be handled immediately by the Augusta-Richmond County Sheriff Department.
