YOU ARE VERY VALUABLE
Introduction:
We as humans place value upon each and everything conceivable. Our nation and all other countries have some kind of monetary system in which to place a purchasing price upon items either needed or desired by its citizens. With a shakyeconomy more and more people are turning to obtaining gold rather than placing trust in the monetary system. Nevertheless, there is something in this world more valuable than the entire physical universe. You personally are worth more than this old world. Why is this so? It is because you were created in the image of God Almighty. We learn this truth at:
Gen. 1:26, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”
This can only be truthfully said of a human. No other type of life in the physical world was created in the image of God. Not only is that true, but you shall live forever. This old physical universe will be burned up at the second coming of the Son of God. Concerning that event, the Apostle Peter declared at:
II Pet. 3:8-10, “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”
It is revealed in the inspired Scriptures that you shall live forever. Hear the inspired word of David at:
Psalm 22:26, “…your heart shall live for ever.”
So you were created in the image of God and shall live forever. This is why you are worth more than the entire universe. So don’t ever look upon yourself as being nobody. The Son of God revealed that truth as follows:
Matt. 16:26, “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”
Discussion:
- YOUR TRUE VALUE IS ALSO SEEN IN THE PRICE THE LORD PAID FOR YOU.
- We learn from the Apostle Paul that Jesus Christ died for you personally.
- He states at:
Gal. 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
- In that our Lord died for Paul He also died for you.
- If you had been the only soul who needed redemption our Lord and Savior would have died for you.
I Tim. 2:4, “(God) Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”
- He was the one and only perfect sacrifice for your sins.
- Even though the Son of God had no sins, He shed His blood and died upon the cross that you could be forgiven of your sins.
I Pet. 2:21-24, “For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”
- YOUR PERSONAL VALUE UNTO THE LORD IS WORTH MORE THAN ANY OTHER TYPE OF LIFE HERE UPON EARTH.
- In fact, you, as a human being, are to have dominion over all other types of life here upon earth.
Gen. 1:26-28, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”
- You will live forever; whereas, all other types of life here upon earth are limited in existence to their life in the physical realm.
- You will experience physical death unless you’re still living in the flesh when Christ returns to receive the redeemed.
I Thess. 4:13-18,
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
- YOUR PHYSICAL BODY IS NOT YOU, BUT YOU’RE TEMPORARY DWELLING PLACE.
- Your physical body is portrayed as a tent for a temporary dwelling.
II Cor. 5:1, “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”
- Your eternal spirit, which is the real you, will be separated from your physical body, which is your temporary dwelling.
James 2:26, “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”
- Your body is not the real you, neither is any of its members worth as much as you are unto God.
- It would be better to lose and arm or leg than to become eternally lost in hell.
Mk. 9:43-46, “And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.”
- As you grow older your body will become weaker and more subject to sickness and disease. Yet, you should grow stronger spiritually in preparation for an eternal home in heaven.
II Cor. 4:16-18, “For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
Eccl. 12:7, “Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.”
- HAVE YOU REACHED YOUR FULL POTENTIAL IN LIFE? YOU WERE BROUGHT INTO THIS WORLD FOR A PURPOSE.
- Do not depreciate your self or allow anyone else to do so. You must believe in yourself in order to achieve your greatest potential.
I Cor. 12:14-27,
For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. And if they were all one member, where were the body? But now are they many members, yet but one body. And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked: That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
Phil 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
- You must keep in mind that your whole purpose is to reverence God and keep His commandments.
- Devote your life unto the Lord in His kingdom.
Eccl. 12:13-14, “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”
Conclusion:
At the end of time you will personally stand before the judgment seat of Jesus Christ. How will you fair? The Apostle wrote by inspiration at:
II Cor. 5:10, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”
May the good Lord be able to say unto you at:
Matt. 25:34, “Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:”
Live in harmony with His will so that He will not have to say unto you:
Matt. 25:41, “Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:”
It would be better for you to hear Him say unto you: “Well done thy good and faithful servant” then for Him to say: “Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire.”
