Review of Child Protection Act - discussion paper feedback
As you know, the Queensland Government is currently reviewing the Child Protection Act 1999. A discussion paper was released in September 2015, with written submissions being accepted until 29 February 2016. A copy of the discussion paper is available here:
Details about how to make a submission to the review are available at the Queensland Government Get Involved website:
With your help, DCCSDS hosted community forums in 16 locations across the state in October to December 2015 (Roma, Toowoomba, Ipswich, Bundaberg, Maryborough, Rockhampton, Beenleigh, the Sunshine and Gold Coasts, Caboolture, South Brisbane, Brisbane CBD, Townsville, Mount Isa, Mackay and Cairns). These forums helped us gather valuable insights from a wide range of stakeholders about the priorities for reforms to support families and protect children.
We are keen to receive written submissions responding to the discussion paper from as many stakeholders and individuals as possible. To ensure this occurs, we’d be grateful if you could forward this email to your contacts and networks to remind them that written submissions are due by 29 February 2016.
If you have any questions about the review or how to make a submission, please do not hesitate to contact Sonya Reesby, A/Director, Legal Policy and Legislation on 3006 8989 or by email to
.
We look forward to receiving valuable input to the review, which will help to improve the lives of children and families across the State.
