A SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT MEDICINES
All medicines must be given to Nurse Sharon whether over the counter or prescription. All medicines (prescription or over-the-counter) must be labeled, in their original containers (preferably small) and placed in a zip lock bag with instructions for how and when they are to be administered. A form is provided for this purpose. The medicine and detailed instruction sheet need to be dropped off to Nurse Sharon prior to the departure of the trip. If you are providing over-the-counter medication like Tylenol or Ibuprofen, clarify how much and when the medication can be taken. Please tell Nurse Sharon if there are some critical instructions that have to be followed. Turn in all medications with the form filled out prior to our departure of Wednesday, May 17; preferably by Friday, May 12 as Nurse Sharon needs to distribute to the appropriate chaperon.
SPENDING MONEY
Please bring $5.00 to tip the bus driver, this will be collected by the chaperon once we are on the road. The students will need money for dinner on River Street Thursday evening; after looking at the selection of restaurants, it looks like an allowance of $20 for dinner is a safe amount. You will probably want to send extra money for souvenir shopping and snacks. The recommended maximumamount of money to bring is $40.00. Please avoid sending more than this because most students become focused on spending their money rather than learning from the planned activities. If your child has trouble budgeting money, this is a great time to teach that valuable like skill. Discuss ways of reserving money so that all is not spent after the first day. Who knows, maybe a few dollars will actually come home!!
