PRAXIS II EXAMS
REQUIRED FOR
SECONDARY EDUCATION: ENGLISH
PRAXIS II Specialty Area Exam
· English Language Arts: Content and Analysis (computer test code #5039). This test should be taken at the beginning of the spring student teaching semester.
PRAXIS II Principles of Learning and Teaching (PLT)
· Principles of Learning and Teaching (computer test code #5624). It is recommended that this test be taken after the completion of the Education Psychology, EDF 3020 course.
Register for these exams at the following website: www.ets.org/praxis. All Praxis Tests are now computer delivered tests. Tests must be taken at Prometric Testing Centers or any site specified by Education Testing Services (ETS).
You must request that all test scores be sent to both Clemson University (code 5111) and to the South Carolina State Department of Education (code 8108). This is not done automatically.
When registering for the Praxis II exam(s) and the PLT, you must enter your social security number. If you do not fill in a social security number on your registration form, your score will not be entered in the database at the SC State Department of Education or at Clemson University.
For Graduation: You must have taken (not necessarily have passed) the above exams and all the test scores must be on file with the Office of Field Experiences in 100 Tillman Hall. Tests must be taken no later than the March testing date for May graduation.
For Licensure: You must have passed the Specialty Area exam listed above and the PLT. It is your responsibility to verify that test scores are on file with the Office of Field Experiences in 100 Tillman Hall.
