University Hospital Sharjah’s newest IVF Centre is the first to open within a hospital in the Northern Emirates

Continuing its tradition of giving back to society, University Hospital Sharjah, the leading healthcare provider in the emirate,now hasits own IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation)Centre.Taking inspiration from the vision of HH Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the IVF Centre is the first to open within a hospital.
The centre, which is located on the lower ground floor of UHS,provides all the primary and ancillary services related to treatment under the same roof. Patients that are treated here, need not go to another hospital in order to do their tests and other procedures.
The UHS Sharjah Fertility Centre [TS1]uses the most advanced fertility technologies, combined withcentral expertise and compassionate staff. The centreprovides reproductive endocrinology and infertility services to patients, which includes counselling the subfertile couple, arranging investigations, liaising with appropriate colleagues, and managing treatment cycles as well as offering genetic counselling and prenatal diagnosis.
In addition, the UHS IVF Centreoffers all medicalprocedures, including: lab tests, scans, ovum pickup, micro-insemination, embryo biopsies, laser hatching, genetic testing, family balancing, sperm and ovum banking, extended culture,embryo cryopreservation and transfer. The centre understands the significance of a concerted, thorough and private network for the comfort of the patient and successful treatment.

The centre is well-structured, self-sufficient and equipped. It is also well staffed and has the continuous support of all UHS departments. It has easy access to the laboratory, theatre and pharmacy. Few of the many treatments that centre offers are IVF/ICSI procedures, gender selection, genetic screening and testing, gametes cryo-banking, infertility diagnosis and treatment.
The other technologies that the centre is well versed in are conventional IVF, Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), extended embryo culture (blastocyst culture), laser assisted hatching and embryo biopsy, oocytes cryopreservation and banking, sperm cryopreservation and banking and micro-surgical sperm retrieval.
