IT Support – Coordinator 1
(Service Desk Technician)
(Position Located in Alexandria)
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Record service calls in web‐based tracking system and utilize system to close out tickets that have been submitted and completed.
· Assist users with functions of application programs and operational problems that arise.
· Perform basic set up of PCs and installation of operating systems.
· Troubleshoot PC and other equipment failures to determine the cause of errors and malfunctions.
· Document network‐related problems for follow‐up by network technicians and complete special projects as assigned by supervisor.
· Train users in basic hardware and software functions that are utilized.
· Travel to various sites.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems and Decision Sciences, or related field.
· Must be dependable, have a positive attitude, be a “team player”, and be able to manage multiple client projects/issues simultaneously, work independently, maintain good records, and work well under pressure.
· Experience with Windows XP & 7 including installation, system administration and troubleshooting.
· Possess excellent troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, communication and organizational skills.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Advanced knowledge of and experience with various computer hardware, such as desktop and laptop computers, routers, switches, & servers.
· ITIL v3 Foundations, MCDST (Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician), MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) certified.
