Animas Aler’s April Meeting Minutes

1. Introductions and check in.
2. Old Business
a. New logo was voted on and beer tulips were ordered. They will be available at the May meeting.
b. Due paying members will receive one for free.
c. If more are wanted, they will be $7 each.
d. Neal had a great gathering on the 12th with many a brew available and amazing food and views. Next years should be a great time for those of you who missed out!
3. New Business
a. Big Brew Day
i. Steve has offered to host a big brew day gathering for Animas Alers and Wort Dreams.
ii. We will try to have BREW TV come and film at the event.
iii. Steve’s house is located in Farmington, but a group from Durango will be going for those interested in carpooling.
iv. Stay tuned for details coming out on Facebook, Google Groups, and the website.
b. Elections
i. This was not brought up at the meeting, but next month is elections.
ii. Current officers are:
1. President: Brian Leavesley
2. Vice President: Nick Collins
3. Secretary/Treasurer: Amber Beye
4. Meeting moderator: Neal Prell

iii. If you would like to nominate a due paying member as an officer, please email Amber Beye at (yes, there is no ‘b’ in there on purpose) or message her on Facebook.
iv. At May’s meeting we will have a vote.
1. Note, that only due paying members have a right to vote.
a. I will bring the list of current paying members to the meeting.
c. Upcoming meetings
i. May’s meeting we will be discussion saison’s, a great summer beer.
ii. June’s meeting will be best of show, so bring your best!
4. Topic for the night
a. Lager competition
i. Two beers submitted: Czech Pilsner by Jeff and a Munich Dunkel by Dan.
ii. Judged the beers according to BJCP style guidelines.
iii. Jeff’s beer won with a score of 37. Dan’s came in with 35 points.
b. Lager presentation by Michaela
i. It’s pretty amazing what people’s lager preferences are across the nation and the world!
