A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE THE MEMBERS OF CAMBRIDGE ACADEMY TENNIS TEAM AND THEIR COACHING STAFF, ON CAPTURING THE SCISA CLASS A CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.

Whereas, being a member of a sports team allows young people to have the opportunity to learn the skills of cooperation and teamwork while developing great athletic talents; and

Whereas, to be a champion in tennis, all members of the team must have outstanding leadership and physical abilities; and

Whereas, with the guidance and leadership of Head Coach Lynn Isenhower, the tennis team of Cambridge Academy faced intimidating opponents and tough matches but were rewarded with the chance to become Class A Champions; and

Whereas, along their journey to the championship game, the Cambridge Tennis Team enjoyed success in several competitions, entering the finals with an overall record of 101; and

Whereas, during their regional competition the Cambridge Tennis Team did not drop a set, winning eighteen individual and doubles matches while recording seven shutouts, and during the regular season, the team recorded only one loss against Emerald; and

Whereas, capturing the title of Class A Champions, the Cambridge Tennis Team defeated Low Country Day School of Pawleys Island with Brandon Dennin, Alex Biffle, Will Bachinski, Jason Isenhower, and Ben Saul all winning their individual matches; and

Whereas, competing against players much older than themselves, the members of the Cambridge Tennis Team displayed poise and experience in defeating their opponents throughout the season and the doubles matches were not even needed as the singles players captured the title for the Cambridge team early on in the match; and

Whereas, the members of this championship team include Brandon Dennin, Alex Biffle, Ben Saul, Matthew Menard, Will Bachinski, Jason Isenhower, Sam Hunley, Sarah Seigler, and Julianne Welch; and

Whereas, the Cambridge Academy Tennis Team has brought great pride to not only their friends and family but also to the students, faculty, alumni, and staff of Cambridge and the community as a whole; and

Whereas, it is with great pleasure that we recognize the physical abilities of these young South Carolinians and hope that they will use their athletic skills and abilities in their future endeavors. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and congratulate the members of Cambridge Academy Tennis Team and their coaching staff, on capturing the SCISA Class A Championship title.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Cambridge Academy Tennis Team.
