Author Nancy Roe Pimm will present to all Willis students on Thursday, May 3, 2012. Ms. Pimm is the author of four non-fiction books.
Nancy Roe Pimm grew up in Brooklyn, New York, where she rode subways and buses. Cars were not important to her. Little did she know that one day she would marry a professional racecar driver. Working in the pits with computers and stopwatches, Ms. Pimm learned first hand about the thrills and dangers of Indy racing.
Her books, The Indy 500—The Inside Track and The Daytona 500—The Thrill and Thunder of the Great American Race explore the history of the two famous races.
Although her husband is a racecar driver, Nancy is an animal enthusiast. While working at the Columbus Zoo, she discovered her fascination with gorillas. She shares her book and love of gorillas with stories in The Heart of the Beast: Eight Great Gorilla Stories and Colo’s Story: The Life of One Grand Gorilla.
Watch your student’s agenda for more information and the opportunity to purchased autographed books!
