One Day
1 January – 31 December 2011
Praying for Revival
A country in need of healing
People in need of salvation
Hope for the poor and needy
A church in need of Power
Renewal, revival, reformation, reconciliation
I sought for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it…(Ezekiel 22:30)
The hope and calling of the Church
The God of Elijah is still on the throne. The promises of God are still valid today. The character of God did not change.
Past and present revivals, the transformation of communities and nations gives us hope and assurance that God still revives, heals, restores and reconciles.
Every attempt from Christians to bring change is secondary to prayer. We certainly need to do more than to pray, but we cannot do more unless we have prayed. History proves this fact.
Why do we need to pray?
–Because of the need and pain in our country.
–Because millions are unsaved and ignorant of God’s calling and blessing.
–Because this is the most important thing that Christians can do to bring change.
–Because revival and restoration of churches are always preceded by intense prayer.
–For the restoration of God’s honour and reputation.
A church that prays, is a church that will experience the power of God. Our present need is for individual Christians and churches that will pray. We must lay hold of His promises, trust His character, rely on His mercy and grace and believe that He answers prayer.
A simple prayer strategy to mobilize the church
One Day
We encouragecongregations, schools, prayer groups, Bible study groups, etc. to take one day during 2011 to pray for 24 hours (or at least as many hours as possible on that day). We call on Christians in the market place to have prayer meetings at their places of work. Where possible, take more than one day, depending on each one’s circumstances.
One Hour
We encourage individuals, every church member, to take one hour (even half an hour) on that specific day to pray with their specific group or congregationfor the nation.
One Focus
Pray for spiritual revival, renewal and reformation in the church.
What to do during your One Day of prayer
- Fill all 24 hours of the day with individuals to pray from midnight to midnight. Encourage every member of the church to participate, even the children.
- Prayerwalksignificant, neglected and dark places.
- Have a united corporate prayer meeting the evening of your One Day event.

When you register, we will send you prayer information and guidelines. Throughout the year, you will also receive electronic updates. That does not mean that you cannot add other prayer requests.
