is Seeking Candidates to Serve on its Board of Directors
NENA is a growing community-based nonprofit organization serving over 14,600 residents and dozens of businesses in the southeast corner of Minneapolis.NENA is dedicated to bettering the quality of life and building a sense of community pride by sponsoring actions which help our environment, businesses and homes. We are looking for energetic, strategically-minded leaders to help NENA and our neighborhoods thrive. Be a part of this important mission! Nomination Forms are due onApril 12, 2018.
Director Requirements & Duties
- Complete the full TwoYear Term (or replacement term)
- Resident (homeowner or renter) of the neighborhood elected to serve (Keewaydin, Minnehaha, Morris Park or Wenonah)
- Board members must be 18 years or older
- Monthly Board Meetings – FourthThursday of Each Month (7:00 – 9:00 pm). Third Thursday in November and December.
- New Board Member Orientation (Saturday, May 12, from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm)
- Total time commitment per month is about 8 hours
- Serve on a committee and volunteer for community events
- Serve on a fundraising team
- Commitment to financially support NENA within your means

* All seats are two-year terms, except one Wenonah replacement seat. At-Large seats will be up for election in April 2019.

If you are 18 years or older and a residentof the Nokomis East neighborhood of Keewaydin, Minnehaha, Morris Parkand Wenonah elected to represent.
Board Information Session
Interested individuals are strongly encouraged to schedule a time to meet with Becky Timm, NENA’s Executive Director to learn more about serving on the Board.Eligibility requirements, terms and service, and other information will be discussed at the upcoming Board Information Session on Thursday, April 5 @ 6:00 pm (NENA Office – 4313 E. 54th Street).
Nomination Forms
There are two parts to the Nomination Form: 1) Contact information; 2) Biographical information.An online application form is available at Your address and contact information will not be public. Completed Nomination Forms are due on April 12, 2018.
Nominations from the floor during the Annual Meeting will also be accepted, but all candidates will be expected to address the biographical information on the Nomination Form. All candidates will provide a short presentation to neighborhood members at the Annual Meeting and neighbors will vote for candidates.
