Background Checks

USA

CCF requires a federal level check - this is via the FBI – not just from your local state our county authority.

There are two options:

1)Submit your request directly via the FBI

  1. Fill out the application form on the FBI Criminal History Summary Checks website (
  2. Obtain your fingerprint card via your local police station
  3. Submit payment ($18USD) via credit card, money order or certified check. NOTE: personal checks, business checks and cash will not be accepted.
  4. Review the Criminal History Summary Check list
  5. Mail application to:

2)Apply via an FBI-approved channeler to quickly and easily check your Criminal History Record Information (CHRI).

The list of FBI approved CHRI chanellers is provided below. These channelers collect the data required and check it on behalf of the FBI. Each company has a slightly different process to lease contact the directly for their requirements.

AUSTRALIA

Gaining a federal level police check in Australia can be done easily online. You do not need to do a finger print check- just a name check to enable you to work with children.

1)Visit the Australian Federal Level (AFP) website.

2)Click on ”What We Do”

3)Click on “National Police Check”

4)Apply via the “Application Portal”

  1. Provide 100 points of identification
  2. Apply via the application process for a “Name Check for an individual only”
  3. Submit payment ($42 AUD)

UK

CCF only accepts International Child Protection Certificate (ICPC) via the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO).

This is similar to a CRB or DBS Enhanced Disclosure check but for use for international volunteering roles.

2) Download the Application Form

3) Collect required information

4) Mail form, payment and documentation to:
