We are now seeking an experienced and energetic Sports Turf Curator to undertake the day-to-day maintenance of all sports turf grass and golf facilities in Royal Park and surrounding areas to the highest standard.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain cricket wickets in line with play regimes including turf inspection and renovation
  • Assist with the project management of relevant capital works projects
  • Liaise with contractors and monitor works when necessary
  • Regularly inspect and report on all irrigation components to the Head Golf Course Curator
  • Assist in the training and supervision of apprentice green keepers
  • Adhere to the requirements of the Serco Management System in a manner that supports the Serco mission, values and governing principles

Qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Turf Management apprenticeship or equivalent (desirable)
  • Current and valid chemical application certificate (desirable)
  • Demonstrated relevant work experience in green keeping/sports turf management including irrigation, turf, tools and equipment and schedules and agreements
  • Demonstrated commitment to a safe workplace through the understanding of OHS&E requirements including written Safe Work Procedures, JSEA’s, emergency evacuation procedures, manual handling, traffic management, injury management and refueling
