Myth buster: CITB is open for business and still retains an office in Inverness at Alder House, Cradlehall Business Park, we are still in the midst of a transitional period of reducing our headcount, 5% achieved to date with a further 30% by 2018. CITB will continue to account manage our key accounts and stakeholders. Sandy MacGillivray, Regional Delivery Manager now has a Scotland-wide team of six Area Delivery Managers, which includes Billy Baxter for Highlands & Islands and each have a team of Apprenticeship Officers to assist industry with the recruitment and the managing agency of apprentices. A new Strategic Partnership Team is in place, Ian Hughes is the Strategic Partnership Director for Scotland, with two Partnership Managers, two Local Managers, one Team Leader and ten CITB Advisors, this team will account manage Safety Forums, Image and Recruitment, Skills and Training Provision (HE,FE and private providers), Federations, Training Groups, National Skills Academy for Construction clients & contractors, and major projects

Go Construct: if any member of the HICSF is delivering H&S or any other construction related talks to FE, HE please register on this industry wide portal to match what you can offer to the needs of schools, colleges, universities e.g. deliver activities, presentations, work experience, mock interviews etc

Flexible & Structured Funds: This type of funding is for construction skills and training projects not supported by other CITB funding, like thegrants scheme.

  • Flexible funding is for short projects, lasting up to 18 months.(Includes a £5K Skills and Training Fund for companies with less than 50 employees)
  • Structured funding is for longer projects, lasting from 18 months to five years
