Calculators:No calculators are allowed in midterm or final exams.

Unless exceptional circumstances arise, the grades will be based on the long time statistics for the overall performance in Math 201.
Labs:There will be a 50 minute lab period each week. In this lab there will be quizzes
that count towards the lab grade.The 1st Lab starts on the September 14, 2009

Note:
(1)There is no deferred midterm. If you have a valid reason for missing it, the weight of the midterm will be transferred to the final so that the final will then count for 90% of your grade.
(2) Please consult your Faculty office for information on Deferred Final Exam Policy.
(3) Reexamination : In addition to the requirements set out in section 23.5.5 of the Academic Calendar, students wishing to be considered for a reexamination must have, excluding the final, completed at least one-half of the term work. Term performance will be considered in the decision to grant a reexamination.

Assignment Policy:In this course,although there are no assignments to be handed in, there will nevertheless be assigned questions which you are strongly encouraged to work on independently. These assigned questions along with some of their solutions will be posted on the Web.Some of the questions will be selected as part of the questions in both mid-term and final exams.
Final Remarks:
(1) You are encouraged to have a look at old exams (available from the Department of
Mathematical andStatistical Sciences).
(2) Do not get behind. Do the homework, attend the labs. This is very important.
(3) Try to learn the concepts, rather than just memorizing formulas.
(4) Students who require accommodations due to a disability are advised to discuss their
needs with Specialized Support and Disability Services.
(5) The attention of all students is drawn to the section in the Calendar entitled: Code of Student Behaviour, where – in particular – the sanctions for cheating and plagiarism are described.
