Winter workouts at Gameday and after-school fall voluntary workouts are underway.
Winter Workoutsbegan December 5, 2017. The GameDay facility provides the bubble and 2 outdoor fields.Dates and times:
January
- Fridays 3:30-5:30pm and Saturdays12-2pm
- 1/5, 1/6,1/12,1/13, 1/19,1/20,1/26,1/27
February
- Fridays 3:30-5:30pm and Saturdays12-2pm
- 2/2, 2/3, 2/9,2/10,2/16,2/18,2/23,2/24
After-School workoutsare Mondays and Wednesdays weather permitting from 3:30-5ishbeginningMonday January 8th.Please watch for an email, check the website or check with your player if they havereceived a text from Coach for any cancellations. Players are allowed to leave early, but need to tell Coach Diaz prior to leaving.
Special guests – speakers, coaches, scouts, vendors, etc. visit our practices from time to time.The players will be notified at practice as these visits become known.It is their responsibility to know about upcoming events and attend if desired.
Key Dates/Fees:
- 1/18/18$250- Summer league deposit
- Why? Too many players dropped out of summer season after schedules were made; resulting in the program dropping a team. All club teams receivedown payments to hold a players spot, and now we will too.
- Down Payment is non-refundable unless your playerdoes not make a spring team
- All players on a spring team will be on a summer team assuming deposit was paid
- 2/26/18- Tryouts/Spring Practice begin.
- 3/1/18$600- Spring Fees Due (No Rockies Tickets - see Fundraising)
- Summer Deposit will be reimbursed to those playersthat do not make a team
- Wood bat will be use during Continental League play forFreshman, Sophomore and JV games.

- Schedules are being finalized and will be posted on the website soon.
- Tryouts:
- All players are put through the same assessment.
- Each player is assigned a depth score. Coaches assigns a score from 1-8 to each player.
- Players are then placed on teams based on depth, score and position.
- We average about80 players per tryout, the programwill try to keep between 68 to 70players.This can change depending on talent depth
- No pitching tryouts – we watch pitchersduring bullpen sessions on scheduledpractice days.
Note: We will not implement any changes we see fit on players taking pitching lessons outside of the Castle View program.
- Varsity will be traveling to Arizona for a tournament during Spring Break.3/19-3/25/18.Southwest airfare $356 per playerdue3/5/2018.
- Each team is allowed to play ~19 games during the spring season, this includes league and non-league games.
- Each team will get one night game played at GameDay fields under the lights.
- Wood Bats:All league and conference games for Freshman, Sophomore and JV teams are wood bat only. The non-league/conference games still allow aluminum bats.
- JV, Sophomore and Freshman will have an end of season 3 game tournament,beginningMay 7th.Castle View will host the Freshman tournament.
- Teams will practice at CV baseball field, CV softball field, Paintbrush fields.

Summer Ball:Registration will be online soon!We will need grade and birthday for each player.We will have 4 teams:

With respect to the Freshman team, the first 15-16 players to sign up will have a spot on the team.We are unable to hold tryouts early so this is the way it needs to be done.
Please note that the summer fees above cover all travel costs for Varsity only.Other teams will be responsible for covering certain travel costs for out of town/state games.Schedule will be out in the next few days.

- Our outfield fence needs to be covered in ads. Lots of new businesses at the Outlets now.

- Brick Fundraiser (Year round):

- SnapRaise (Spring - after tryouts)
- Simple....player sends 20 emails for donations. Goal is $20,000 this year.
- This will start after tryouts.

- Concession Stands Products
Proposed field maintenance, pitching cage and changes to dugouts and bleachers is pending final approval from the district.Thanks to all who have been helping on the field this fall.
Additional Notes:
- SaberCat Diamond Club will provide option to usePayPalbut you will be responsible for thePayPal's 2.9%surcharge which we will add in, we are looking into the "Friend" option that would be a reduced surcharge.
- Once season starts, we will need 1 person from each level to be responsible for coordinating concessions
- Once season starts, we will need someone to coordinate team dinners to be held in Commons Area of CVHS
- Once season starts, we will need people to begin planning the end of season banquet
- There will be SignUpGenius signups for Concessions, scoreboard, etc. Each family is expected to signup at least once
