Senior Program Director
The Meadowlands Area YMCA is a rapidly growing and progressive association
that is looking for individuals that can contribute to our team. Located in
Bergen County, New Jersey we are in the shadows of the Meadowlands Sports
Complex (home to the NY Giants, NY Jets and the 2014 Super Bowl) and right
outside of New York City. It is an exciting time in our 93 year history -
our YMCA is starting a Capital Campaign to develop a recently purchased
building into our first full facility YMCA. We are looking for a motivated
individual that loves working with all age groups, has a proven leadership
track record in the supervision and delivery of programs/services; and
believes in Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and/or three to five (3-5) years of managerial or
supervisory experience as a YMCA program director or aquatics director (or
educational institution, business, program, or agency related to children).
Preference will be given to individuals with experience in an aquatics environment.
Certifications in Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor; and Certified
Pool Operator (CPO) or equivalents. (current or obtained within 4 months of hire)
A plus - Current certifications in Lifeguard Training Instructor, First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR for the professional rescuer)
A working knowledge of the computer especially Microsoft Office Suite (Windows environment).
Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.
A professional image and the ability to work harmoniously with staff, members and the community are imperative.
General Responsibilities:
Provide supervision of and leadership to all Program Directors and their respective departments-
Aquatics
Health & Wellness
Day Care & Preschool classes
School Age Child Care/Camp
Adult Sports
Any future expansion of departments
Serve as the Director of the following program areas:
The Arts Programs - Performing and Visual - all ages
Afterschool Enrichment Programs - for students who attend the host school
Summer Enrichment Programs and Specialty Camps
Youth, Adult, Senior and Disabled activity programs and specialty sports Volunteers
Provide the coordination of all of the YMCA department's promotional information with the marketing department. Coordination of the facility management for all on and off site programs.
Provide leadership in developing the strategic direction and alignment of the day-to-day work of all departments. Assisting with the YMCA's Strategic planning for the development of a new YMCA facility.
Hours: Full Time Exempt
Compensation Package:
$48,000-59,000 - plus Group Health Insurance-single (medical,dental, prescription, vision and life insurance)
Paid Time Off (PTO), Holidays and Sick Time
YMCA Retirement Fund (mandatory after qualifying period)-7% YMCA & 5% Employee Contribution
FSA, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Credit Union
