Job Description
Job Purpose:
The Administrative Clinical Support Staff Supervisor manages and supervises the operational/administrative functions and activities of Coastal Family Health Center' clinic support area. The Administrative Clinical Support Staff Supervisor is responsible for managing, planning and coordinating clinic operations including supervising administrative clinical support staff, including front desk, referrals, outreach, and medical records. The Administrative Clinical Support Staff Supervisor acts as a liaison with patients, businesses, hospitals, academic administration and faculty.
Duties:
  • Supervise clinic admin support staff on a day-to-day basis.
  • Provide ongoing training and support for staff members.
  • Design position specific training, document, oversee, train and evaluate staff during orientation process.
  • Manage support staff schedules.
  • Help staff front desk, working as back-up as needed
  • LEAN Process Trainer (will be trained)
  • Provide assistance as needed during patient encounters and help defuse patient tensions.
  • Manage support staff training/in-services (ie CPR, HIPPA)
  • Prepare/conduct support staff performance evaluations with Human Resources staff.
  • Organize daily huddles in absence of CEO/CFO or as directed
  • Liaison between departments, front desk and support staff creating a positive team environment.
  • Liaison between outside agencies, patients, hospitals, businesses including but not limited to; Clatsop Behavioral Health, Columbia Memorial Hospital.
  • Management of purchase ordering.
  • Review internal Policies and Procedures and update as needed.
  • Work closely with Human Resource staff and CEO to ensure proper employment practices.
  • Supervise Overtime (OT) for support staff.
  • PIQA Committee member.
  • Recruitment of new staff.
  • Participate in community outreach
  • Work closely with the Medical Assistant Supervisor to maintain smooth functioning organization

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Administration preferred (may substitute experience and combined training) minimum one year supervisory experience required.
  • Two years of experience working in a medical clinic.
  • High School Diploma Required
  • Basic Life Support techniques certification, required.
  • Sufficient experience to carry out the duties of this position, required.
  • Must be able to pass national background check and drug screen.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
  • Involves walking, standing.
  • Bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, carrying, pushing (5 lbs. or more), pulling and handling; predominate daily physical activities while performing duties within clinic practice.
  • In performing job duties may be exposed to uncomfortable temperatures, blood and body fluids and hazardous chemicals; sight, auditory, tactile and olfactory senses exposure.

Salary:
  • Salary range for this position is at Health Center’s Salary Scale.
